ICELANDIC GLACIAL INNOVATION PACKAGING

In an exciting year for new product launches, I had the pleasure of designing the packaging from initial concepts to finished product for three product lines - Sparkling Flavors in PET, Sparkling Flavors in Aluminum Cans, and the 5L Refrigerator Pack, as well as a redesign of the core Still in PET secondary packaging.

 SPARKLING FLAVOR 12 PACKS

We moved from 24 packs to 12 packs for the Sparkling Flavors in PET and I wanted to inject the real fruit and clean lines featured on the labels into the secondary packaging, which would now be featured on shelf. I designed concepts for all six flavors based on the existing bottle design, with added fruit details and stylized typography.

STILL PET

As more and more cases were being utilized as displays in-store, it was time to update the secondary packaging to match the premium nature of the product. Featuring the product image, a metallic bottom and red sticker detail with the pH level callout, this design is a sophisticated take on Iceland’s icy landscape and Nordic heritage.

SPARKLING FLAVORS IN ALUMINUM CANS

As a completely new type and highly anticipated product, I was responsible for designing both the labels and secondary packaging for the aluminum cans. I wanted to maintain consistency with the existing Sparkling Flavor line, but with a more playful twist. These brightly colored packages are completely covered with seamless patterns representing each flavor and can be placed on shelf with any panel facing forward. A red sticker detail found across the brand features the case size, and a single can is placed over perforated tear off section to represent what will be seen inside the package.

5L REFRIGERATOR PACK

For Icelandic Glacial’s biggest size yet, I designed the corrugated box to house a 5L bag of water with a spout, as well as the secondary packaging for a 2 pack. Using the same imagery as the 6 pack shrink wrap with a perforated cut out for the spout to give the effect that the water is coming directly from a pristine underground spring. Both unit and secondary packaging feature red ribbon detail used across the brand and tagline “Open Here for The Purest Tasting Water on Earth.
